Hello,

Maybe someone in this forum can help me in identifying a frying pan lap steel guitar and amp that my great uncle passed down to me.

The guitar has a label at the top with RICKENBACHER ELECTRO and 2 symetrical lightning bolts with Los Angeles. It is all aluminum or steel and has colored dots on the fret board. There is a serial number 00124 on the top of the head.

The amp is black with rounded hole and vertical black strips for the speaker cover with tweed tissue without any labels on the front. There is a fuse, a switch and 2 jacks on the back.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Kevin, You have a wonderful early Frying Pan there. Richard can give you specifics, but it looks early 30s to me. If you tune it and play an A6th chord, you will conjure up the ghost of Dorothy Lamour in a sarong. Aloha, David.
