It feels risky to me.

He was selling an identical Mapleglo too. I say was as they are gone. I still think it felt too risky. Was tempting though.

I came close on both of these. Was there - could have done it. If I had I would have lost sleep tonight wondering if it was a scam. Could be a hi-jacked account, though the fact that he is also selling some antique nick nacks under the same immediate payment conditions lent his bass auction some credibility. Why would he make both his feedback and buyer ids private if he was legit? Was not a chance I chose to make

I bought them, used credit card. So I will sleep ok. Now what does a guitarist do with two fine Basses!

Will a credit card protect you in the event it is a scam?
Hope it works out for you - keep us posted!

Yes, I only use credit card when paying with Paypal. If you have cash in your Paypal account, sweep it out to your bank account. Use the more funding options, and always pay with the credit card. Credit cards protect against fraud, Paypal will not, unless the auction says buyer protection up $xxxx. But the few times I have been ripped off by Ebay, when I paid with cash from Paypal, they were no help. My credit card has always credited me.

This is the seller who pulled a fast one on me!
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=7384939218&ssPageName=STRK:MEWN:IT
I NEVER GOT THE BASS. It took WEEKS to get a refund by the time my CC company finally released the funds.....Paypal said a credit was issued, but by the time all the dust settled, it took a LONG TIME.
Look back under "V63 SHAFTING STORY"!!! I just "BUMPED" it up.
David: Get RIGHT on this woman! I may have even saved her phone number and emails....I hope it works out better for you that it did for me....
IF you do get them, as to your question "what does a guitarist do with two basses?".... Why, you can sell them to forum mates!!!!!!!!

Hey Sheena,
That's her!

In all fairness, she did refund Tony's money and my money (I had "bought" a red-burst Hofner). Our conclusion was that the original owner of the basses in question either reneged on her, or they were possibly held up in a divorce settlement. I'd like another crack at the red Hofner. David, please keep the Forum advised on the progress of the sale/delivery.
