thats the most disgusting most tastlessly modified bass i have ever seen.
WHY redo it in nasty colours?
WHY a differnt bridge?
WHY THE HELL WOULD YOU WANT WOOD FOR A PICKGUARD?

That poor bass would need a lot of restoration to get it back to even LOOKING like a Rickenbacker. A real fixer upper to say the least.

The owner says the instrument has just been living in the case and not getting any use. It's no wonder to me. He's probably been ridiculed in the past about what he's done to it and is now embarassed to show it out in public. It would serve the little snot-wad right if he couldn't sell it; he oughta be made to eat it.

Hmmm... a finish strip to maple... a pickguard, nameplate and pickup surround... some vintage reissue tuners and a tailpiece/bridge... maybe even add a neck toaster, and voila!
I might just bid on this miserable creature!

I don't mind the blue so much, but that brown...ugh! Too much work for me.

Being the owner of several basses that some consider ugly I will always try to give any bass a fair shake. Just can't go there with this one though. Fecal Burst?? There were some strange asthetic sesibilities at work with this one!

Here's one source for parts ...

I kinda like the trans blue look ... but without the brown blob center ... I would probably turn it into a 2 pickup bass

Between white or black, I'd go for white. I too like the blue though - just without the brown! After all is said and done I think you will end up with a nice Ric!
