I found 2 (from 1986/87), in mint condition, 4001V63's.
These are from a recording studio,(that rarely used them).
It sure was sad that they sold them so cheaply, it’s just not right!!!!!
I will post more pictures when they arrive.
“FYI” I am not looking to resell these. (although I already have a "V63")
They are already allocated to other forum members, you know “who” you are.
However, I will get to play them for a week or so.

Dave, quite a find! I love them both but think the FG is the better, just.

Very nice... BTW, why is the toaster in the Fireglo located 1" away from the neck? The knobs layout (esp. the neck volume) on that bass also resembles a 4003.
That is one of the nicest Fireglo's I've seen... deep and dark.

When I get it in, I will check for "non factory" routing.
If I had to guess, perhaps the very first runs were not consistent? It is from 1986...

The V63 was introduced in 1984. Is this possibly a custom ordered “S” bass?
But the walnut ears?
The split tail piece?
