I wish, overall, there were more pics from the '66 show, to see the differences in PA, etc. Supposedly the sound was better on that tour, though that is a relative term considering the era and what was available in those times.

Those are the best shots I've ever seen of that show. Great!

By the way, RE: YMCA "good guys"

It wasn't the YMCA. That doesn't make any sense. It was a NYC radio station: WMCA.

The "good guys" were the DJs and the station's slogan. For those interested, here is the background:

And the logo was that smiling face you see on the web site. That face was plastered on an orange sweatshirt that all the "cool" people had.

Yes, but as everyone knows who's seen the First US Visit DVD, Murry the K dj'd at 1010 Wins, or as they called it in the old day W Y N S. By the way, the street outside the stage door for CBS (the Ed Sullivan Studio) still looks the same, with the Roseland, etc. When I walk by the sidewalk there I can't help but think of the fabs piling out of the limo and onto the sidewalk.

Murray the "K" (Kaufman) known as the "Fifth Beatle" was with WINS in the early 60s (before WINS became all news of course).
[By coincidence, Murray was on WMCA briefly in the 50s.]

Heh-heh. Well, Mark, WINS has some claim these days to be the most "listened to" radio station or some such thing. Wish I could have heard it in 64 (I was 1 and in IL.) Bill Murray the K was classic, too. He was the 123rd Beatle, I believe.

The scene is here in Flushing, the whole world's eyes are on Flushing, because the Prefab Four are coming to town tomorrow to talk about their trousers!
