Frankly, I'm surprised this did not happen much sooner:

It happens with these guys all the time. This particular case has been going on for a while, but it is just reaching a court date. I read or heard somewhere that one of the proposed settlements involved putting Paul and Ringo on the Board at Apple Computers.

We shall see!

I was reading that the lawsuit started in the early 80s, and it just kept going as Apple Computers kept breaking the agreement.

i guess it was settled out of court in the early 90's... that Apple Computers was not allowed to use the Apple symbol when it came to anything musical... way before anyone envisioned the ipod.

First came wars and genocide over the proposal of ownership of land and natural resources...next, the issue of intellectual property and who owns things like ideas, art and music...and now we're going to fight with each other about who has the right to display the image of a ubiquitous fruit...

The human race is painting itself into a corner...

A new, unplumbed topic for the lawyers to make bux on...

Only when also selling music.

This is typical Aspinall/McCartney nonsense. Steve Jobs is a prominent Beatles enthusiast and the agreement said nothing about Apple Computers digitally distributing music. How they think this could be infringement on a virtually defunct company is utter rubbish. Just cheeky "skinflint" Pauly being Pauly...

Actually, the forbidden fruit is not specified in the Bible, it's simply the fruit from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil.

Also, the early Apple computers had an interesting sound that one could use; it's name? Sosumi. It's amazing how many people I have run across who didn't get it ...

I hope "skinflint" McCartney (and Ringo, Olivia and Yoko) kick Jobs butt all over the UK on this!

Sosumi...The Beatles get it!

Yeah, kicking Jobs butt with a ridiculous, specious arguement that the 3.5 million tunes in the Apple music store constitute an infringing music label would be a great precedent. Yeah, that would be genius...Not gonna happen....

Greedy old buggers...Macca should be kissing Jobs' arse. Those Ipods have introduced tons of kids to his old band, be it "pirated" or ripped right from the CD.

I have to agree with Michael on this one. Steve Jobs can sleep well at night in the full knowledge that he did not break the covenant that he had executed with the Beatles.
