I wonder how hard it would be to convert a 4 stringer into an 8? I'm sure someone has done it before. Looks like there is room on the peghead for some small tuners.

Simon Mole has a 4004Ci converted to an 8 stringer. I don't have pics handy at the moment but will look when I get to my home computer.

I believe Mr. Rath has similar plans in the offing. A most interesting possibility!

Anybody know how much it increases the tension on the neck? The 2030 headstock is big enough as well.

Seeing that MG 8 on Ebay made me really want one again.

I have a silver one and I sold my FG to Erik Blueflame.
The one that Erik purchased from me was one the best playing ones that I ever came across.

I think the Large/Small tuner combo looks a whole lot better. (ducking under table) Are the bigger tuners really nessesary for the light gauge strings? Seems like the smaller ones are the way to go due to weight issues. Just ramblin'

Love that headstock. The design and aesthetics are perfect for a Rickenbacker.
The later one's look misproportionate, or should I say just plain ugly.

At least he used a bass that didnt cost $1000 to do it to.
I'm more than happy with my Hamer 12. And it has the big/little tuner thing going on also!
