Pitch Shifter or Harmonist Effects

Post by admin »

Has any here experimented with the older Boss "Harmonist" HR-2 or the more recent "Pitch-Shifter" PS-5 effects? I would appreciate your review of either of these effects. Two guitarists is preferred, but not always possible.

Interesting Peter. I have messed around with an old Boss harmoniser, but unless you use an 'intelligent' pitch shift (one that you have to tell it which key you're playing in), then they're use is pretty limited. As you know, I do a couple of twin leads myself, but live, I prefer just to play a single part, rather than spending time between numbers typing into an FX unit.

It's certainly worth further investigation though, as if it could be nailed, it would be pretty impressive. Incidently, I do use a boss octaver live, which is similar in use. I really like it & it will feature on one or two songs on the next album.
'Rickenbacker'...what a name! After all these years, it still thrills me.

Yes, your twin leads are great Tony. That was you, wasn't it? Or did you have the Pitch Shifter then?
