My impeccably spotless Geddy Jazz just arrived... she's now getting used to her new family. I just want to thank Marc Seligman for being awesome to deal with and to say that if anyone thinks about buying an instrument from him, he's a class act all the way.
2 for 2 in buying basses from members of this fine forum!

I know it's a Jazz, but somebody's gotta care!!!
Anyway, I have a thing for black and white...

Cool, I'd expect no less from a longtime Forum member like Marc. I think the Geddys look great. I've never tried one, but I've always liked the feel of the jazz bass neck. Post a pic or review!

I just got done giving it the Chromes treatment and a test-run through my Pod. Really, really versatile tonally... tons of bottom yet still articulate, not quite the sustain of my 4001 but the Badass helps. I missed having a toggle... but the VVT works great for playing with tones. I love the way it sounds... and the neck is awesome. It's SO thin from 1-5 that it was weird at first but I got used to it. The finished fretboard's going to take some getting used to (the board on my 77 was stripped when I got her.)
Slightly heavier than my Rick but nothing ridiculous... I think I got one of the lighter ones. Overall I really like it... it won't become my #1 bass since my 4001 was brought to Earth by the Gods but definitely a keeper!
Also keep in mind that I'm a musician not a photographer!

A nice pair. Congrats! The black fret markers really set off the neck.

A Jazz just isn't a Jazz without the tangy zip of blocks and binding!

NICE!
Out of curiosity... how do you go about shoehorning 5 strings on a Jazz neck?

Me too Lindsay... I have to say again that buying this bass from Marc and my '77 from you were both great experiences and I thank both of you!
Lindsay... after I get the gremlins sorted in my ProTools rig i'm going to shoot you a track with both basses on it... unless I get frustrated and just use Cakewalk, but either way expect some sounds soon!
How have you been?

putting 5 on a jazz neck is a squeeze ... but on a p-bass neck it is no problem ...

I've seen p-necks that could fit 5 people!

One of the great things about this forum is the comradery.
I've sent instruments to guys here, not knowing what was going to happen, with nothing more than trust, and never had a problem.

Hey Bob! I've been swamped but otherwise good, thanks. Eagerly looking forward to two count 'em two confluences (confluenci?) coming up in the next two and a half weeks. How has everything been going for you? I really like your new bass, I can't wait to hear it.

"Also keep in mind that I'm a musician not a photographer!"
Is that like: "I'm a doctor, not a doorstop!"?
Anyone know where that quote is from?
