at this '74 JG. My first RIC was a '74 JG and I wish I had never sold it... The only thing that I'm not sure about are the tuners. I don't remember mine being so chunky. Are these stock?

I think those tuner posts are too large to be original. The headstock appears to have been drilled out. On the plus side, they might not be as big as Fender patents so the grommets might cover the over-sized holes. My Autumglo is setup like that.

Those oversized tuners often turn up on the Grover era basses. They make a bass neck heavy for sure.

Tuners are definitely not stock.
The posts on these look about as large as the holes
are on the originals(.5"). You'll need to dowel and re-drill.
You'll likely need to go with
Klusons if you want the back to look good; the base-plates
of Grovers might not cover the holes on the back.
Nice bass if the price is right.

Very nice bass, and personally I don't mind the non-original tuners. I also like the battle scars, they add character. If the neck has no issues, go for it!
