I should have joined this forum a long time ago! I have a 4001 that I bought in the mid 70's and yesterday I bought a used 360/12 from a friend. Loving it! Played it all day.
I was poking around on this forum while I was trying to make up my mind on the purchase and got a lot of great information.
What an inspiring guitar! (360/12) I got a few song ideas already.

Welcome to the Forum, Larry. Now that you're on board you had better post some photos of your new purchase, and some of your bass too.

What part of the planet are you from?

A good question for everyone, I think. I've been wondering if there are any Ric heads in my neck of the woods. I hail from Southern Louisiana, Baton Rouge and, the mecca of cool, Lafayette (I'm serious). Anyone in the area?

Lafayette, way over in Oz? I thought that was in the USA only...here's another PW/GW thang...back in the Beatle days, we used to buy a lot of our band's sound stuff at a place called Allied Radio on Western Avenue in Chicago. Mikes, wiring, Bogen PA amps, Altec sound columns, etc. They merged with Tandy (leathercrafts, a good complement to electronics, right?) out of Dallas and somehow became Allied Radio Shack. Now they're Radio Shack, erstwhile purveyors of cell phones and mechanical MonChiChi dolls, with a tiny parts bin in the back near the employees' toilet and nary a mike to be seen. Last time I looked (last week) there were a couple of knobs and a 3 amp Slo-Blo in there).

Back in the day, their major, much smaller, competitor, was Lafayette Radio. I bought my first 8-track cassette recorder there in '72.

Anyway, welcome, Larry! The Red Stick/Laffy corridor is underrepped in these parts, methinks.

There were only a few Lafayette products sold over here, Paul - in the 60s and 70s. Many short wave enthusiasts had Lafeyette SW/LW radios that kept them up all hours of the night. Not me, though.....

The speakers were only just OK. I replaced them with a pair of Celestion Ditton 50s or 60s (memory?) after about 6 months. Chalk and cheese!! Image

Hey I used to live in Lafayette. In Colorado though, outside of Boulder.
Bogen! Haha I remember using one of those for a PA years ago. One step below a Shure VocalMaster (VocalDisaster?) We didn't even use monitors in those days!
