Seems like there have been a number of RIC acoustics shipped out to dealers recently. Has anyone heard if RIC is activley producing acoustics again?

Dang it! I just bought a Gibson (but it's really nice).

A few have been trickling out here and there. I don't know if these are pre-existing units that have been on the floor for a while (see "Finally Got a Ric Acoustic") or new production guitars. Perhaps this "trickling" was going on all the time and we just weren't aware of it because we didn't have the "recently shipped" function on the Ric website. For what it's worth, I don't think it's ever been a question of production officially stopping. It's the ordering of acoustics that's currently frozen.

A J-185. I love their Jumbos and this is blonde (natural) with a beautiful flame. If those bastards at the car wash hadn't stole my camera Monday, I'd post a pic.
Recorded with it last weekend, very sweet. Otherwise, the songs are all Ricks (a 1997, a 4005 and a 660/12).
Someday, I'll own a Rick acoustic, but for now, instant gratification.

Gary, what is the deal with that bridge? I have never seen a J160E with that style. I even went to Gibson.com and could find no info.

YOU ARE BIDDING ON A 2004 GIBSON J160e NATURAL BLONDE (RARE)

-THIS GUITAR IS IN "LIKE NEW"CONDITION AND HAS ONLY A VERY FEW HOURS PLAYING TIME ON IT !!! THE FINISH IS ABSOLUTELY FLAWLESS WITH THE EXCEPTION OF A VERY SMALL DING ON THE END OF THE HEADSTOCK WHICH IS PICTURED.

-THE WOOD GRAIN ON THE SOUNDBOARD IS EXCEPTIONALLY BEAUTIFUL !!!! THERE IS NO PICTURE THAT WILL DO IT JUSTICE !!!!!!

-IT PLAYS AND SOUNDS EXCEPTIONALLY INCREDIBLE AND THERE IS NO FRETWEAR !!!

-INCLUDED IS THE ORIGINAL FACTORY GIBSON HARDSHELL CASE BEAUTIFULLY LINED IN BLUE VELOUR , WITH THE OWNERS MANUALS AND FACTORY WARRANTY CARD`` !!!

-YOU CAN BID WITH CONFIDENSE FOR I HAVE A 100% RATING WITH EBAY !!!

-THIS IS A ONE OF A KIND J160e AND WILL ONE DAY BE A COLLECTORS ITEM.

VERY , VERY NICE GUITAR !!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm guessing that it was a one-off special order, but I will try to confirm that with Gibson after I get it.

Thanks, Paul, it was an "EXCEPTIONALLY INCREDIBLE" opportunity, as opposed to a "commonly incredible" one. Image

Oh, and I too want a Jazz-bo ... some day!

Yes, when ordering resumes, a Jazz-bo is what I'll order.

I figure I'll have a looong time to save between down payment and delivery. That's the upside!
