I am eagerly awaiting the arrival of my first Ric bass: a blue burst 4003 (I got my first Rickenbacker, a 360 for my 21st birthday). Anyway, what does everyone recommend for a good amp to plug it into?
I have an old Vox T60 (one of the last ones before they were discontinued)....but I don't know if anyone has found the perfect match with their 4003's.

I really like my Genz-Benz combo. I believe it's a GBE100-115 or something like that . . . I actually probably would've preferred the 2x10 rather than the 1x15, but overall, it's amazing for how little it cost me. Using an XLR cable to plug direct is especially awesome, because the amp section of the combo is so clean.

Any decent valve (tube) amp will do the job nicely. Think Ampeg, Orange, HiWatt... Adjust tone settings to taste. Tubes + Rick 4003 = True Love!

Alisha, welcome to the Forum, I also have a new 4003BBR and I love it!
Good amp recommendations around here are like asking where everyone is from!

Tubes are the way to go, apparently, although I get good results from my GK 400RBIII with 2 4x10 cabinets.
Hard to go wrong with an Ampeg, though.
Here's a pic of my 4003BBR.

I've had good luck with the Ashdown ABM series. You can dial in vintage or modern and control both with a footswitch.

Welcome!
I got an SWR 200W amp & 4X10 cab last year & love the sound.
It's gotta be all tube for guitar, though.

Welcome Alisha!
By far the best sound I've ever had is a 4001V63 through my Ampeg B2RE with a 2X10 and 1X15!

Jeff,
Your recommendations had some bearing on trying the B2R and Pod. They sure have worked well for me!

After struggling with my tone lately I reconfigured my cabinets to better suit the room we're rehearsing in. I use the Yorkville XS400 head. I was using the Yorkie XC115 cab with Avatar Kappa Pro 2x10. But now I've gone back to using just my old warhorse Fender BXR 4x10. Sounds great now...
At home I use an Ampeg B100r.

Ashdown ABM500 Evo II and 2x ABM115 cabs. i only got this recently but I am very impressed. plus the full size 15" cabs are not a lot bigger than the Trace 1153 compact cab that they replace and believe it or not are actually lighter as well

70's Ampeg SVT's with original cabs sounds killer with Ric basses.
