Just a little love for Carrie of Sleater-Kinney. She's my all time favorite guitar master. She played a 330 for little while but now rocks the Gibson SG. I think it's because she does awesome windmills and its easier on the sg.

I went to high school and college with Carrie, and had the pleasure of teaching her a few of her first guitar chords one day after Mr. Livezy's math class! It's my one semi-legit claim to fame. Of course, I had nothing to do with her talent, or what she's done with it. Just a few chords. But I can tell you, she's always been cool, and one of the nicest people I've known. Her 330 was at the EMP in Seattle for a while, too, as was her Epiphone SG. They made a video for their last album in which she played a single pickup 425 as well.

thats awesome. Today while working, I heard their song Get Up coming from someones speakers, so we made small talk about SK.

I have no idea how Carrie:

a) comes up with those parts

b) can sing over said parts.

she rules.
