Hello Beatle buddies ,
Here is a link to a REALLY cool Beatles related
performance (it's a SURPRISE!)
http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=4776181634656145640&pr=goog-sl
Paul, Ringo, Olivia and Yoko should get ahold of this guy for the Cirque Du Soleil show in Vegas.
Enjoy !

Hi Nikki, welcome!
Well your first post shows you may travel the back-roads, and your sense of humor leads wherever you go. A brilliant fit for this culture!
I'll say the guy has more talent than your basic American Idol, and more fun to watch. However, if not for his music selection, GONG!!!
(I'll give him a 3 for endurance)

Hello J. Gary ,
THANKS! for the Welcome.
Yes, I do like to travel those Back-Beat-Roads.
Glad you had SOME fun watching the guy juggle
even if you felt he only warranted a "3".
(Sure beats those old "follow the bouncing ball" sing-a-longs if you ask me !)
Please keep in mind that Bliss was CHANGING his
rhythm along with the song's dynamics and not
just juggling to an "ooom-pah-pah" beat.
I felt that Bliss managed to give THE END
an even more ballsy rhythm (so to speak).
When asked why he didn't use a drum kit,
he said that "the rhythm is in the balls !"
(okay... so this is NOT an authentic quote)
Check-out the other links for Bliss' stand-up routines. Maybe you'll enjoy him more as a comedian.
To NOT be continued ...
PS I just got a Ric 325 C64 (drool here)
that's in the shop for set-up and alterations. More about that in another future thread.

You know, I owe the talented Bliss an apology. I missed the subtle nuances of the man and his......ahem, balls. I tend to prefer female anatomy humor. I find the tools of his trade a rather umm....., sensitive subject. (ok, I'll stop here)
Wise choice the 325. I worked with a gifted guitarist for years who flamed on a mid 80's stock 320. She loaded the thing with 9's and ran through a solid state Fender amp with a single 12" speaker. You could not stump her as she was always right on the money. Old chicken picking to Ozzy, she made that little Rick sing. She beat that baby mercilessly with never a single problem.
Congrats on your new Rick, no wonder the feeling of Bliss. (sorry, couldn't stop myself)
This your first? Alterations? Color & photo's?
Enjoy!

Hello J.Gary ,
I'm glad you were able to discern the
"subtle nuances" of Bliss' juggling performance
upon further consideration at an anatomical
perspective.
If Bliss were a FEMALE and we were evaluating
HER performance in regard to female anatomy,
we might be considering her "Jiggling" abilities.
Anyway.... (YES! it IS Time to end this thread!)
Your woman friend who played the mid-80's 320 sounds cool. I can't imagine putting 9's on a 320 or 325. They'd play loose like rubber bands!
I usually use 10's ... Ernie Balls....
(geez! there's that BALLS reference again !...
and I thought I was gonna END that thread !!!)
on my other electric guitars but I jumped to 12's for my new Rickenbecker 325 c64.
Could have even jumped up to 13's but me poor little hands would get mighty sore
(I'D GET BLISTERS ON MY FINGERS!!!)
RE: my new RICKENBACKER 325 C64
COLOR: It is BLACK (ALL the new c64's are black)
ALTERATION: I'm putting on a "regular" Ric bridge
as the stock "roller bar" bridge drives me nuts
when the strings tend to make a "plink" sound
everytime I hit a string with any force.
ALSO....
I received the guitar in March but had to send it BACK to Ric because the neck was WARPED !!!
(You wait 4-5 years for a guitar and they finally
build it in January 2006 and then send it to
you 2 months later with a WARPED Neck !@!*!%!
That's old American Pride in Workmanship for ya!)
I was SUPPOSED to have received a FACTORY NEW
replacement but I would probably have had to wait
ANOTHER 4-5 years, so I opted for the Rickenbacker factory to re-work the neck.
(steam and press job ? ... sounds like something
I would have done to a suit or clothing sent to the CLEANERS.... Hey! Hmmm??? maybe it WAS sorta like being sent to the CLEANERS !?!).
It came back MUCH better but it will still have to be set-up and intonated after I get the Bridge
replacement and the new Thomastick 12 guage FLAT
strings put on.
Well... Gotta go now.... It's time for my meds.

Good grief Nikki, I would have been heart broken if my new long awaited Rick had twisted. Was there any theory as to what happened? Sounds like they got to her pretty quick at least. I do not recall another instance where this has occurred. I see why the meds.
Sounds like you've been playing for a while and are familiar with Ricks. What was your weapon of choice prior to the 325? You play lead with those 13's? What kind of material?
Kristen, the above discussed flaming fingered female lead player, was relatively tall, 5'7", with small hands. As talented as she was, she would only play a 320. Started with a Fireglo, and got a Jetglo on her birthday a few years later.
A little side note gentlemen. I had the honor of presenting Kris with her new 320 on stage at a small firetrap we were playing at. For my small part in the presentation I got a great big KISS! So boys, if you want to impress a gal, hand her a Rick.
(easy there Nikki, I spelled it very carefully thank you)

Huh... anybody willin' to impress
me? I'd prefer a 760J, please, although any other RIC acoustic will do...

Okay, okay, i'm just kiddin'... Ah, dreams, dreams...

Okay, any color then... it seems to me, finding a 760J is a huge trouble by itself...
BTW, Mousie is currently tryin' to imitate the juggler guy... not having enough rubber balls, she uses "raw" eggs... i already can smell the urgent need to visit the supermarket tomorrow...

I hadn't lurked on this part of the Rick forum for awhile but got sucked into the whole Paul/heather thing when I found this delightful post. I would love to see this guy do "Helter Skelter"

Sunday Morning on CBS showed a guy, who is no fan of Bliss, juggle 10 balls to the same song. Apparently this guy is a friend of Penn Gillette and Penn encouraged him to do the same thing with 10 balls. Sorry I can't remember the name, but he was pretty good himself.
