Vince Gill - "With You"

Apologies for virtually no Rick content here.....
I bought The Essential Vince Gill CD on Saturday. I don't mind a bit of country music and I was impressed with his guitar playing on the Clapton Crossroads Guitar Festival DVDs.
Much of it was what I expected but there is one song that IMO is a simply gorgeous ballad - beautiful and very moving - called "With You'. If you're in love, make sure you've got your tissues handy!
Has anybody else heard the song and what are your impressions? I think there's room in there for some really strong chords on a 12 string with lots of jangle and chorus!
Gonna work out the chords and have a crack with the 660/12....
Anyway, if you get the chance, have a listen!

So Howard... are you in love?
* I liked his solo on Pretty Little Adriana (or whatever the title was)

Vince Gill is a great country artist Aitch. I also like country music (I especially like those artists who hire ex-rock musicians to back them up) but in reality I don't want not too steady of a diet.
I have not heard that cut yet. I'll check it out.

Aitch... that song wouldn't happen tho be "Never Knew Lonely"? I found that one in my dusty country stack, but not "With You"... I'm always looking for sappy-*** songs to play for the wife!
(Hey... it makes schmoozing for basses alot easier!)

Funny... i'm in love permanently (some say it's just my natural state of mind), but the only song that can bring me to tears is Dire Straits' "Romeo and Juliet"... oh wait, there's one more... or two... or three... i dunno...

IMO "With You" is a much nicer song than "Never Knew Lonely", Bob. The only album I can find it on is "The Essential Vince Gill" compilation and guess what? "Not for sale in the USA and Canada". What a crock!!

And he's COUNTRY! How much more American can you get?
Can you email an mp3? I think I'm one good love song away from an Ampeg...
(or not)

Bob,
some of the very best "country" comes from down under. Of course I am speaking about Keith Urban. What a talent!

I was definitely off in not mentioning that, Brian! Not only did I have NO IDEA he was from anywhere outside of Tennessee, but what an amazing guitarist!

Truly and honestly I did try, Sheena, but it bounced! I was going to try again a little later. I'll give it another go right now, pronto, poste haste, without delay, at once!!

It bounced again, Sheena. Access from my IP address is blocked. I'll try sending it from one of my other email accounts. Hang on............
