Kind of a Semi-Artist: In this week's new episode of the Simpsons, the family has a band, with Bart playing a poorly drawn 4001. Kind of a Semi-Artist Sighting.

Did you see the episode with the Rock & Roll fantasy camp? Tom Petty was on there with his ric and when the credits were rollng it showed him recording his voice part sitting down with his ric. Pretty cool.

That is soo funny.
I saw it too.
It was a BG LH with a toaster. Black TRC with the shark inlays, white pick guard.
I have Tivo, so I paused it to study it...

You've got the eagle eye, Isaac. I just saw that minutes ago and came in here to post about it. I think given the lack of detail in most animated guitars, it was a pretty darn good drawing. I think it's safe to say that was a 4001 BG LH.
Also interesting about the Petty episode: they drew the same model and finish as in that footage... what was it, a JG 660 I think?

Dave wins! I guess it's not a 4001, then is it? 4003? S?

No, cause it's in the '70s, so by default, it is a 4001. But, then again, I don't know how many people really study animated guitars, lol.

The Simpsons are many times have a clever tribute to the Beatles in there somewhere.
One can easily tell that Matt Groening is a big fan of the Fab Four.
And the 4001 would look cooler than even the hofner!
