I just wanted to share with everyone on this great forum my other love. This is in my humble opinion is a very under appreciated guitar. It is a 1967 Hofner 470. This was the export version (outside the UK) of the famous Golden Hofner. It has flamed maple back and sides and a solid spruce top. Great mother of pearl inlays, pearloid and veneer binding and purfling. Hardware was of course gold plated and it has an 11 piece laminated neck. It plays like a dream and is a great jazz guitar.

Len,

My first guitar was a solid body Hofner that closely resembled a Gold Top Les Paul except it had the obligatory 60's Hofner control plate mounted on it. I wish I had kept it. It was a great guitar in its day.

Your guitar is a beauty. I can see why you love it so much.

Nice looking guitar! I recently picked up a Hofner President bass with the three knob configuration and pickup switch on the upper bout like your 6 string. Mine has the blade pickups as well but the pickups could use a rewind in the future as the bridge one has lost most of its sound.
