Kenny was telling me that he saw an older blue 60's polishing cloth sell for a large amount as well. He told me the cloth was the last piece to the puzzle for a guy that had an original 60's guitar with original hang tags, case etc... The cloth probably added much more value to the guitar than the cloth cost.

I never thought I'd see the day when stuff from the 80's was "vintage."

I never thought I'd see the day when half a grilled cheese sandwich was "sacred."

The starting price may be $99.99, but I see he/she has zippidy-do-dah for bids.

Actually Brian, I was speculating on that. It's the only reason I could see to pay top dollar for a polish cloth...

If that one sells, I'll sell one of my old polish cloths that has never been used also!! LOL

I have to confess that I paid $99 BIN for the unopened blue Rickenbacker polishing cloth on eBay last week. It will be the perfect case candy for my 1960 335F.

Am I crazy to pay that much for a bit of soft cloth? Absolutely!
However, there was a similar blue one on eBay two or three months ago which fetched a much higher price. Maybe I grabbed a bargain?!
The company address showing on the blue cloth is 201 Stevens, Santa Ana. Can anyone tell me when Rickenbacker Inc moved from these premises?

201 East Stevens is the former warehouse for RIC. It's the building next door to our current facility.
The more commonly seen version of your polish cloth used the same graphic on a yellow cloth, which I'm sure we've all seen.
Did I call it though? Case candy for a cool guitar called for top dollar.

Me too! And I just opened the one from my new 350!! Dang! Another 30 or 40 years and it might be worth $100 or so.

Think I'll just keep using 'em for what they were intended.
I do appreciate someone's desire to collect a 100% original vintage piece with accessories though. Who knows what I'd do given an opportunity to do that with a 57 or 58 Combo 850...

I have a a small collection of those lying around that I never opened from the 80s. Now that I've seen this, I probably won't be able to find them.
