I don't know how well-known they are for their use of Ricks, and I didn't see a post on this yet.

He was using a Rick 4001 when I saw them in 1973 as they were breaking out.

Probably using that same bass when I saw them in early '76 too!

I can hear some Rick on "On Your Feet Or On Your Knees" but Joe mainly used a Precision and by the time of "Agents Of Fortune" he had switched to an Alembic.

My friend Richie is playing bass for them these days. I think he's using an Ibanez or something, though he does have a nice 70's Fireglo Rick.

Joe Bouchard is one of my favorites. I've loved Blue Oyster Cult for over 25 years -- what a great band. When I was a kid, I spun their records until the grooves wore out. I'm sure Joe's basslines are part of my subconscious on some level.

The SNL bit with Will Farrell is great, too!

Thanks for the posts, guys - I enjoyed them.

I saw them when The Reaper was a huge hit and I think he was playing Alembics, I was never impressed by his playing or the band for that matter, except for their early stuff like Hot Rails to Hell.
