I can almost get my entire rig in my car with the exception of my bass. I think I can solve the problem by using a gig bag for practices. (For gig's my guitar player will pick me up in his SUV and the Rick will stay in the case.)

My question is, anyone have any suggestions for a gig bag you'd trust for your Rick?

I'm a bit squeemish, but with gas prices being what they are, anything that eliminates two trips is a must.

I regularly use a gig bag for trips to practice for my Ricks, & to gigs for my Peavey 5 string. The brand name is Profile, but I don't know anything about the company or it's relative quality. It works fine, has a decent amount of padding & tons of zippered pockets.

I try to keep away from bad gigs. ;^)

I use a double bass Reunion Blues bag which is really nice. I have the Cordura model, not the leather one. I would assume their single bass bag to be just as good.

I won't use them for anything but storage. I thought it was about bad gigs also and was ready to relay some stories.

I'll give a shout-out for Ritter gig bags.. i believe the model is the RCG700, and i paid around $45 for it.. works like a charm, is quite protective, and has a billions pockets.

I have a Levy's gig bag that I like very much. I have a F*nd*r bag that holds 2 basses. It's made okay, but the padding could be thicker and it doesn't have a soft lining...so my Ricks don't go in there.

I recently picked up a Kaces soft light case. It's nice, my one complaint about it so far is that the handle is too far to one side (head) of the case, so it's off balance when you carry it with a bass in it.

Carvin makes a nice gig bag that I use from time to time.
