Recent reissue Klusons. Asian-made (China?) I believe.
This particular number cross-references as a Mosrite replacement.

I have recently purchased several sets of new Klusons. That's what these are. Mine are correct for Rickenbackers (i.e. round stringing holes). As Paul says, your slotted types are correct for Mosrite. They are indeed made in Asia. Some Forum members seem to prefer the Gotoh vintage tuners over the new Klusons. I haven't installed either type yet, but I've bought a few sets of each. The Klusons seem slightly sloppy, but may be fine with string tension on them. The Gotohs are very nicely made.

I installed a set of these (six-in-line) on one of my tricked-out Fender Duo-Sonics, and they function just fine.
Like Randy, I have heard many express a preference for the Gotohs as being better made.

I had a set of the Grover version on a Gibson. No issues, nice smooth action. They have a cast plate so they do not look as accurate.

I'm not sure about the single line Kluson Deluxes, but the vintage double line Deluxes have a patent number stamped on the plate. I'll check later to see whether I have a picture of that.

You are correct the kluson stamp number is D-169400.

That's my favorite type tuner, whether it's Kluson or Gotoh. The slot tops are superior IMO; super easy string installation and no sharp string ends poking out anywhere. If I had the spare $ I'd change the tuner sets on every guitar I own to these. They look cool, and they work great.
Anyone want to buy some Schallers or round hole Klusons?

Pictures please... I've no idea what you're talking about
Might be interesting to put those on my 480 - the current double line Klusons look awful and don't operate that well anymore...

The pictures are at the beginning of this thread; the second one shows the slot top, though the very tip of the tuner post is slightly out of frame/cut off.

I agree with Paul. I love slot top Klusons.

The slot tops work great for a six string but will not work on a rick 12 because of the way rick routes the headstock. The slot will not be visible.I will stay with the stock klusons for a 12 string.
