Issue of MG Amber

From reading a past thread PM Blues has a MG Amber 330/12 that he's pushing as the next rare nugget. After checking the RIC site for recently shipped goodies I'm noticing a few of those going out. Anyone know if that is a custom thing, or an experiment, or a fluke.

As far as I know there were some instruments sprayed this finish, as they were test subjects for it.

MG Amber looks a lot like regular ol' Mapleglo and I suspect you (well, I) probably couldn't tell the difference unless you (or I) compared it side by side with a standard MG. Even the photos PM Blues posted illustrate that the finishes are not all that different. So if you pay a lot extra for the honor of owning a rare MG Amber instrument, seems like you're buying paperwork that says 'MG Amber' more than you're buying a truly unique color. But that doesn't mean I don't want one...!

I agree with you.

My 4001V63 aged nicely. It has a very rich color. I wish my 4001C64S had the same color to it. I would pay a bit more for it to have the Amber look. I think their is a difference and I like it. Heck...it's only money right?
