Amber inlays?

I went to Rudy's in NYC today and there was a nice 330/12 there in what I believed to be Amber Fireglo. There were no identifying tags and no helpful salesmen so I was unable to find out for sure.
However, the guitar's dot inlays were a distinct reddish-amber color. I compared it with the 350/12 right next to it to make sure I wasn't going crazy. Is this a feature of all AFG guitars with dot inlays?

The Amber FG has that color because of an amber tint to the conversion varnish, which of course is applied over the entire guitar, including the fretboard and inlays, too. I didn't notice much difference at NAMM...perhaps you saw one that was particularly dark...

Rudy's got a 330/12 AFG recently.
We decided a few months ago to up the amber content in the conversion varnish to enhance the look.

It was really stunning, Ben. First time I had seen the finish in the flesh and i'm sold on it. Great job by all at the factory!

Ben - does the AMG finish also tint the white binding? I'm thinking of ordering a 4003 AMG and always liked the look of aged binding.

You bet it does.
The binding and the inlays are the only way to really tell a AMG from a normal MG, that's why we decided to limit the amber tint to FG's.

So Ben, is the AMG going to be a regular, available for order offering, then, or are these considered "Test Guitars" for a finish you decided not to offer?
