Just received my 350V63 Fireglo two days ago. It is a beautiful looking, great sounding, and easy playing guitar (even with the 1 5/8" nut - turned out not to be a problem). I have a couple of questions.....
The volume on the bridge pickup seemed to be low compared to the mid & neck pups. so I measured and found the clearance on the mid & neck was 3/32" (both sides). The bridge was at 6/32"! I adjusted the bridge pup to 4/32" clr. I couldn't raise it any further because the screws just started to "pull" out of the pickup "plate". As it turns out, 4/32" is fine. Just wondering if this is typical

Welcome to The Rickenbacker Forum Gene.
While it may be academic at this point, you could add another grommet or even a half-grommet under the screw which would allow you to raise the bridge pickup slightly. For the sake of symmetry, however, you will need to do this will all the pups and when you do, the grommets on each pickup that are not screwed to the guitar will tend to fall out.
Another option, which would take away from the V63 look would be to put the foam pads under the pickups. If it was my instrument I would go with the former if you still want to raise the bridge pickup. You are certainly within the ballpark though.

Welcome Gene. Those 350V63's are so nice, I think you are suppose to just look at them, and not touch them.
Congrats on your new beauty!

Hi Gene!
I see you made it over from VoxTalks! Welcome.
I'll measure my 350V63FG tonight when I get home and post the result up for you later. The more time i spend with this guitar, the deeper I fall in love. It is utterly fantastic through the Vox.

Thanks for the welcomes and also for the technical advice. I'm glad to see this pickup thing is "normal". Pickup balance seems to be just fine at 4/32" so I'm going to leave well-enough alone.
Now I can concentrate on figuring out the 5th knob
Thanks again.

Hi Gene,
Just measured my bridge pickup and it measured at 4/32 low E, 1/32 high E. I lowered the bridge 1/4 turn on all screws the day I got it, but that is the only adjustment I have made so far.
The volume is very balanced between all pickups. No registered difference using an Archer dB meter 10ft from my AD120VTH/AD212 set up.

Thanks for the info Dean.
I'm going to follow your lead and just leave it alone.
