Yeah, playing JACO!! Love that tune.
Nice. Manring is amazing.
Jaco is the king of fretless. Wonder what he would sound like playing a 4003FL. Anyone know of anyone recordings of Jaco tracks being played on a Rick?

Thanks Jeff.

I saw the Manthing a couple of times, once with Montreaux, and once with Greg Howard, who is an amazing Stickist. He definitely is an influence, at least as far as choice of bass goes. Image

Very nice bass Jeffery, is it yours? I think that's the Zon Sonus.

That is my '99 Sonus 5/1 that Joe Zon made for me. At the time you couldn't get his 'Master Tops' on a Sonus, but he picked out a really nice piece of Spalted Maple for me (Steve Cooper's favorite type of wood!), plus he wired the pickup in parallel for me, along with no active electronics, just a passive volume control. I added Hipshot tuners and bridge once the bass was in my hands.

If you have never played a Zon, you will be in for a real treat when you do, as the necks are nice and thin like the '60s Ricks.

BTW, I have played the bass on the home page of Zon's website. It is a Sonus Custom with a piezo bridge and a gorgeous Flame Myrtle top.
