Jeff: Very true,

But I figured SOMEONE out there might be looking for one. IF it was ANYTHING other than JG, I'd go and take a look just for giggles for myself. I've never seen one "in the flesh" sort of speak.

Its like 10 minutes from me.
Anyway, the offer is there.

I'd pay the premium for an "s".

So being a 4003S, it's a neck-through? Versus a 4001S, which is a set neck? Do I have that right?

The tuner spacing on the back of the headstock looks odd to me, like the holes were drilled in the wrong spot. The E and A tuners are too close together, and the A and D tuners are too close to the top of the headstock. Is this something you see often?

Yeah I'd pay it, it looks really nice with the dots and no binding, wish they still made them.

Correct.

4003S are neck-through.

I think the price is fair, if you want an S. True, you can get a "normal" one for a hair less, but if you were wanting a brand new, dot-neck, no binding Rick bass, you'd have to order a C64 and the price on those is higher still. Actually, I'd be interested in finding a 4003S that needs work and a refin to be the subject of an interesting color scheme I have in mind.

I feel so blessed, I recently picked up a black 4003S with black pick-guard, toaster and Horseshoe for $1025.

I'd jump on this one, even at the current price.

It was only three years ago that I sold a '92 4003S JG that had been refinned for $650.00.

I'm with you John, same here. I sold one about 3 years ago and could only get about $700.00 for the thing. Oh how times have changed.

I sold two almost brand new V63's for about 1000.00 each, 3 and a half years ago, don't feel bad.
