It's not a Rickenbacker guitar, but it IS an essential tool. I'm not sure about the forum rules for non-Rickenbacker items. Perfect condition, maybe 1 hour use. I will include the AC adapter that had to be purchased separately. Email me if interested.

It is the ultimate compressor/sustainer for that Roger McGuinn sound. www.janglebox.com, or search this forum for jangle box.

I don't see why not. It is an important part of the "sound".

Jere, could you give me more info on the AC Adapter? Is it a specialty one? When I bought the JB, I thought it would work with 9v ones, but it doesn't, and I hate using batteries.

The adapter is a standard 9V 500ma unit - with one important caveat. It must be centre-pin positive - most are centre-pin negative, so it may be a little trickier to find one.

John, most standard 9 volt adapters come with either a switch, or sometimes a reversable connection, which reverses the polarity. At least they do here in the UK.

We don't offer adapters on our web site, but we generally have them in stock if you give us a call. We sell them for $25.00. You can get the ones we use at RP Electronics (with whom we have no affiliation):

RP-9500R-P regulated 9VDC 500mA center pin positive wall adapter. I believe they retail for $15.00 + S&H.

While we are on the subject, I find the Janglebox to be of considerable use, beyond the 12 string thing.

Tony: From my experience, it is rare to see an adapter with both positive and negative tips in North America. The use of positive versus negative tips is a bit of a sore spot with me.

I have yet to hear a good argument for one over the other and it reminds me of the Beta/VHS wars. It would be so much easier if there was an industry standard, which I consider is tipping toward the negative tip in North America.

Radio Shack sells at least two different universal "wall warts" that I'm aware of. These come with a number of tips, a voltage selector switch, and a polarity switch.

Yes, I have seen them on the shelf Paul. I find that when you purchase a product that includes the adaptor, however, it is one of the other. I have a drawer devoted to these at home. Often times the tip is correct for my application, but the Milliamp rating may not be, yet another variable to consider.
