Blue Boy Color Variation

Hi All,
I've been reading up on Blue Boy's and have heard that some have more of a green tint to them... true? If so, is there any reason for this type of variation to affect the value of the instrument down the line? Thoughts?
Thanks.

Its hard to say which way this tide will turn. The early ones are sky blue, and some of the later ones are almost "mint" green, (very cool looking). Either one is very beautiful. As far as collectability goes, I think in the future it will be similar to the discontinued white basses, where the the more hard to find "pure white" ones, will fetch a higher price than the more common "yellowed" ones.
With the BB guitars and basses though, I really dont think alot of them were produced to begin with. So if you factor small production numbers in with varying finishes, I would put my money on the "true blue" ones.
Mine is a blue one.

This bass will definately have a Horseshoe pickup and toaster some day.
*Note to Rickenbacker, please make the horseshoe pickup available for purchase again.

They'll all be green eventually, sooner than later. It's only the clear coat yellowing, not the color coat itself, and the older, clearer stuff will eventually catch up with the newer, slightly yellow coats.

Welcome back, John. Your return is a good birthday present for me. While we have your attention, will we be seeing you in late August?

Mine is blue like the above pictures. One of their nicest colors, pictures don't do it justice. I have to get a fretted one now.

The mint green BB's that have been referred to were the result of a newer conversion varnish we had been spraying some time ago that has since been replaced. The BB's that we have produced within the past several months, from what I have seen leave the factory, are pretty much sky blue without a hint of varnish yellowing nor mintiness...

That mint green was very pretty.
