Hi,
Just wondering if anyone here has changed the gold guards and TRC from gold to white on their JG 325v59.
It would still have the B5 and perhaps the bowtie which I have yet to install.
While I like the looks of the gold, I like the white better. Besides, it would match my JG 4003 and JG 610.
Thanks

Oh, I wouldn't change a THING about my 325v59.... But mine's not a JG, either....
I love mine just the way it is!

Thanks for the input Melissa.
The more I look at it, the more I like the gold, so I'm leaving it alone.
Beautiful 325 you have there!

Good choice, Rob.... I think the gold looks cool with Jetglo, too.... especially with the oven knobs!
I think the V59's are the COOLEST-looking of the 325 family.

Melissa, but you changed the pickguard! That's not V59 knob positionings.

Nope, if there are any mods to the guitar, I don't know about them.... I'm pretty sure everything is original. My husband got it for me in an eBay auction a couple of years ago.... It was the best Christmas present ever, at least as far as material things go....

I finally got around to posting a picture of my '97 325V59.

In my opinion, the pickguard is what needs to be modded on a V59 more than anything else!

Modded how?

Melibee's looks correct to me using an early catalog ('85) as a guide. Kris' appears to have a C58 pickguard mod.

Here's another view.

Kris' has no mod. Can you see how the knobs on the pickguard are spread out an placed awkwardly? The top two knobs shouldn't be so far apart. All four should be in a rectangle shape.

The pickguard an mine is a replacement from Rickenbacker, ordered in 1999. The original one was cracked (unfortunately, not like Lennon's!) The only thing I did was leave off the upper guard. I'll have to pull out the original guard and check the hole spacing.

Does anyone know where to obtain the aluminum knobs to complete the 325 v59 Lennon mod? (See photo in Kris's post, above)

Are those the Burns knobs? Mike Parks has 'em:
