Probably a dumb question but I was wondering if early 1960's (1964-65) Ric 450 /6 used a bow tie bridge or the standard 6 string saddle bridge. My 1967 Ric 450 / 12 has a bow tie bridge and I just got a 1964 Ric 450 / 6 with a modified saddle bridge although the pick guard looks cut out for a bow tie?

Len: A great question. I believe that the early models used a traditional one piece bridge with relief. My 1966 450/12 came with the original bridge (thanks Jdubyah)but I prefer the RIC 12 saddle for it.

For 450/460 models, Rickenbacker switched over from the regular 6 saddle bridges to the compensated bridge sometime in '62. The first 450/12s were made in Nov./Dec. of '64 and used the compensated bridge also.
