Sgt. Pepper's released in the U.S. June 2, 1967.
121 weeks on the Billboard charts.
Highest position...well you can figure that one out!
Revolver's still my #1 Fabs Album.

Oasis' debut album 'Definitely Maybe' has been voted as the best album of all time in a recent survey by British Hit Singles & Albums.

The 1994 album, which went on to sell over 7 million copies worldwide, took the top spot ahead of The Beatles albums 'Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Heart's Club Band' and 'Revolver'.

Very hard for me to believe. I wonder if they vote on these things annually.

39 years ago today I also graduated from high school. I think the Beatles have done better than I have.

I am a HUGE Oasis fan, but their first album, to me, doesn't even come close to Revolver or Rubber Soul.

"A Day In The Life" was the first song I heard on Pepper. It was amazing and always brings back that initial memory. I was a sophmore in HS. You got a couple of years on me, Dave.

I liked "What's The Story Morning Glory" MUCH more than "Definitely Maybe". But hey, that's me, and I think Sgt. Pepper is WAY better than that.

Can someone explain what John's trademark necklass was all about?
He wore it for quite a while.

That was one of the first lessons my high school history teacher taught me was that you can't judge anything fairly until at least 40 years after the fact. I love Oasis but there's no way that they could challenge for a top spot with that album. Most of the songs on there are seriously "influenced" by the Beatles anyway.

Oasis' songs are too long and what's with the terrible production? They have some of the worst drum sounds I've ever heard on a major release. Plus they were the most boring live act I've ever seen (fortunately I was only there to see the opener, Velvet Crush.)

Trademark necklace. Yeah, where can I get one? I heard he got that from some American Indian that made it for him.

Chris, go to www.beatlesuits.com. Russ Lease who makes the replica Shea, Crosswalk, Collarless, and Hard Days Night jackets is selling replicas of the Lennon talisman necklace. They're going for $89.99 plus shipping, but it's as close to the real deal as you're going to get!
