I found two Beatles' 45 singles today, one is Ticket to Ride which says: from the United Artists Release "Eight Arms To Hold You"

The second is (B side of Hello Goodbye) I am The Walrus which has the extra measure during the middle. Supposedly the Ticket to Ride I found is a very early release, also I have the I am The Walrus with the extra measure in a Beatles rarities tape of an LP I made some years ago, does anyone know anything about these 45's?

The first one is mentioned here

Ticket To Ride / Yes It Is.... they say only $10, but it sure sounds like a nice collectible.

Yeah, I was surprised to see that especially after hearing the first 45 with the extra measure in the middle. I think they all may have been printed like that, not sure though, I know where to look, haha! ebay.

Does the "Ticket to Ride" have a picture sleeve? I believe most of the issued 45's of that song have the "Eight Arms to Hold You" stamped on it.

I believe the " I Am the Walrus" version you mention was issued on the "Rarities" album.

If "Ticket to Ride" has the picture sleeve- then you're looking at around $150 for it, depending on condition. It's a rare sleeve. I believe all the original pressings have the incorrect movie title on it. I believe most mono copies of "I Am The Walrus" has that alternate version. If you have the sleeve for that one, You're looking at about $125 depending on condition. Pull up "Perrydcox" on Ebay as a seller, he deals, and writes price guides to Beatles stuff.

No picture sleeve with them, just the records, I was hoping they would be in the pile but that's a bit much to hope for at the Salvation Army. I taped the "Rarities" LP sometime ago and was surprised to hear the same version.

IIRC, the 45 of Eight Days A Week also has the "Eight Arms To Hold You" appellation. (Hmmm... if that had been released on the Apple label instead of Capitol, that would have been a nice pun!!!)

I started getting into collecting records but found that 45's were way out of my league. The sleeves were hard to find and the whole thing was very "needle in the haystack". I finaly just gave a bunch of my LP's to a coworker to convert to digital. They turned out great using Toast (mac program).

I have an old Technics turntable with a new Grado cartridge in it, some records sound more realistic than the CD's. I like CD's for the dynamic range and clarity but a good record kills a CD in realism. I'm still angry at the record companies for pulling all the LP's during the late 80's, we never got a choice, I was forced to buy a CD player.

I used to be an avid Beatles record collector but stopped as vinyl began to phase out. I still have a ton of International pressings as well as original USA pressings.
