I have the same bass with vintage pickups and dots instead of inlays.
I'd love to have this as a high-gain alternative, but I've never liked the inlays.
It looks like a very thin upper horn to me as well.

Alan, is your's a Jetglo V63? Or did you put the older style pickups on a 4003S? The bass above is a Jetglo 4003 with black binding, black hardware, and black trim. Pretty unusual, although Jared will likely post a picture of an even more unusual Fretless that he and I are familiar with that had this trim package, too.

Paul, its not a V63. I bought it very recently from eBay as an all-original 1986 custom order 4003S with vintage re-issue pickups.
The strangest thing is that the words on the truss rod cover 'made in the USA' appear upside down. Although when I asked about it on the Ric forum John Hall said he had seen these before.
For me it's a 'never selling it' bass.

Oh, right, Ken S. had that one for a while. I remember now. At the Midwest Confluence we got a kick out of the fact that out of some 55 instruments that showed up, we had three Jetglo V63s which should be pretty rare.
There's probably no way to determine production numbers on black-trimmed basses, and sometimes the white binding was overpainted with black.

Black on black's a very handsome combination. There both fine examples.

Wow, I didn't know there were any Jetglo V63s in existence. I did see a seafoam green and a blueboy one.
I would have loved to have been at that Midwest Confluence. Are there any pictures floating around?

If the one at GBase was a 4003S, I would be severely tempted - would love to have a sibling for my 4003S/8:
(The bass that is, not the cat!)
