My dream Ric arrived a few days ago and I love it.....I never dreamed it would sound so good....I can't put it down.
12 strings are a little tricky to get used to, I find it is easy to "think" you are holding down all 12 strings, until you pick them individually, and one is muted............this is my first 12 string, so a few weeks practice should help...............
I couldn't get any of my own pics to under 20kb, so here is one identical to mine (I hope I upload it correctly)

Hello..what a gorgeous guitar..I have always loved the aesthetic of the 330's and thats one of the nicest ones I have seen.. to get the vintage pickups did you have to place a special order with the factory ? I didn't know you could get 330's with vintage pickups, excuse my ignorance on these matters..here in the uk you only ever get to see the three standard finishes....vintage specs you'd have to sell your soul to the man downstairs ..throw in a couple of kids too.. and do his laundry for eternity.. oh no !!

Andrew: You did read 20K. I changed the upper limit and forgot to make the changes on the topic descriptions. Doh! Hopefully all of the changes are now in place. Thanks for the reminder and again, what a beautiful instrument.

Hi Antony........the guitar is 100% factory original....BTW, I live in the UK as well, although I bought this in the US, and had it shipped it over......I bought from an online music store, it was NOS........You can get 330VP spec models (and 360vp's) direct from factory (as standard) as far as I am aware.......

I am looking to buy one myself very soon, could I ask you what the store was called ..I have looked at a few but yet to find one with the guitar that I want..I have rather taken to the seagreen colour, which seems not to be to popular a colour choice .. nice and bright.. not your standard fare.... what is BTW ? and NOS ? ... cheers

Antony - BTW means "by the way" and NOS means "new old stock"......just email shorthand.
I cant lay my hands on the website address where I got my ric, I will email you it when I find it (although the shop wasn't a ric stockist, and I know he rarely has any rics in stock).......have you tried www.ricsrus.com? To give you an idea, including VAT/TAX I paid approx £1100 for my 340vp/12...........Which model/spec are you looking for?

I was looking for a 330/12 with vintage pickups..I owned one in the early 90's but it had high gains.. and regret the day I sold it... did the price include shipping costs, I have noticed the wide range of prices available in the states the cheapest being £800 for a 330/12
and that included shipping.. so much cheaper than buying in th uk..

That is a truly gorgeous finish and I love the three toaster tops. As far as playability, don't be macho about having a high action for "tone". Set that baby down as far as it will go without buzzing and you'll find that you can lay your index finger across the fretboard with moderate pressure and all the strings will ring out. If they don't, you might need to have some minor cutting done to the nut slots so that all the strings lie at the correct depth.

Antony - although these ric appear very cheap in the US, remember you have approx £130 to ship it over, then VAT and import taxes (approx an extra 20%), so the original price soons grows

Jeffrey - The more I am playing it, the more its getting easier to hold all 12 strings, - I know what you mean about the nut slots, it did cross my mind...............The action is really low, the setup is pretty much perfect.

More practice I think
