Cripes! Doesn't look like a faker to me, which is apparently the only thing it has going for it.

Wasn't it the great Whitney Houston that said "Crack is Whack"? Image

The seller was hitting the pipe a bit too hard, I'd say. That would figure to be a late 70's 4001 with nary an original part except possibly the neck pickup.

"Acquired from big name bass player- thru chance meeting"

So who would that be? Yeah right!

I suspect that statement is about as accurate as his description of the bass.

nary an original part

I love the word "nary". Image Used it in a song I wrote, which I recently transcribed into Lilypond script and printed a nice detailed lead sheet. Showed it my wife and she's like "what's that word "nary"?"...

That is one beater there. "Occassional studio use only for the last 30 + years" ??? Sure that's what makes a near 30 year old instrument look like that!

I don't get many opportunities to throw down on a "nary". It is hard to work it into daily conversation. Image

The guy changed everything! Wonder who messaged him?

$1250 for an opening bid is still REALLY high! $250-300 would be more sane.... He'd have more luck opening it up with no reserve.

That bass might be worth $600 in that condition.

Nary is not common in american english. It is more a part of the british lexicon. I do hear canadians use it now and then though.
