Have a chance to purchase a '92 620-12, Fireglo with case. Person is asking $850 and it has a bunch of dings on the body and headstock. Just wondering if this is a fair price.
I know Elderly is selling a brand new 620-12 for $1063.
Would appreciate comments. Thanks.

I passed on a similar item a few months back. Seller wanted $750.00.

What would be a fair price considering the cosmetic condition? I'm not concerned about cosmetics, but playability, frets, electronics, and neck stability condition are important.
Would $750 still be too high?

John,

It's difficult to say without having personally inspected this guitar. Based on your information, it sounds reasonable. I've got a 620/12 and like it, FWIW.

Yes, good point about inspecting it. It's tough to judge a guitar from a few digital pics. I don't mind paying a bit higher than it should be (About $30 to $50) I just didn't want to get hosed on the deal if I decided to go ahead with it.
Appreciate the comments here.

You won't find anything in a Rick 12 for less money than that. So if it's structurally OK, then you aren't getting hosed, as you put it.

My own turndown was based on cosmetics, too.

Why not spend the extra $200 for a new one? Seems a very reasonable price for a 12 string!

I agree that the price difference is not that much, but I've liked the early 90s Rics I've played. I have '90 330 & a '91 360. The necks seem to be similar and feel better than the later Rics I've played. I dunno, it's hard because there aren't many out there to play and try before you can buy. Plus, $200 is a fair amount of money to me. It can always go towards relieving future GAS ;)
