hey folks

I'm a newbie here and just wanted to share some pics of 4001 basses i owned in the past and have regrettably sold. I was wondering if these are rare colors because i have yet to see any like this anywhere on the internet or in the shops. the brown bass is a 73 4001 with checker binding and a toaster pickup..the red 4001 i think is called fireglow? It had a silver metallic base coat and a red clear coat on top.

p.s. sorry about the poor scans

Tom,
Yhe red finish appears to be Ruby, not Burgundy. There is a picture I posted in an earlier thread that has a 4001 Ruby and a 4000 Burgundy side-by side:

The Walnut shown there is a 'burst' finish, but I have seen examples that were solid brown (I though Mike Parks had a 4001 WAL in his Sold pages, but I can't find it).

Sorry for the double post; I hit Stop on my browser and, thinking it didn't go through, corrected 'though' to 'thought' and sent it (again).
