Again I need your help with something. I recently bought the 4003 JG of Paul and now I tried to do the "Vintage Tone Mod." on it. The Push/Pull function works great, but I have no output from the neck pickup. I've taken some pictures of the mess and maybe you guys see something wrong?
I used the schematic of Joey. (http://www.joeysbassnotes.com/TipsPics/06%204003%20wiring.pdf)

High resolution pictures can be found on:

I think I can see a broken wire on the neck pickup. 1st picture (mess.jpg). Maybe my imagination?

Yeah this one. But that wouldn't be the problem for no output, right? just for grounding?

I don't know. I would connect it to make sure. What about the one at the bottom. Looks like that is broken too. And that one is the hot wire.
I would make sure all wires are connected properly. That way you can rule out any problems....

It will probably work if you reconnect it.

That's the main, hot output lead! Of course you'll have to connect it to make it work!

You haven't come up with a wireless pickup yet? Whatever happened to cutting-edge? Image

Ok, thanks. But which wire do I have to reconnect to what? Red to green or Red to blue or?
Thanks!

Red to Green. If you pull off the black shrink tubing on the green, you will see where the wire in red went. Then make sure the solder connection you make joining red and green is insulsated with more shrink tubing or black electrical tape or such.

The wire that comes out of the magnet hole and is soldered to the metal should be connected to the shield of the wire that also has the green circle. The center of that coax wire should be the one you solder to the red circle wire.
