The Electric Amish

There is a very tenuous Rickenbacker connection here!

This album cover was featured on a music trivia TV show here tonight. I spotted the Rickenbacker 330 straight away and googled the band "Electric Amish".

These guys describe themselves as a non-power trio! Read more about their unique style of music on their website at www.electricamish.com

I'll be in Lancaster, PA weekend after next where there is a large Amish community nearby. I hope "Electric Amish" will be gigging there...so I can hear their tune "A Hard Day's Work!"

Fabulous stuff, eh?

Darren: Don't miss the chicken and waffles either. You can wash it down with a birch beer!

Erik, Thanks for the tip regarding scrapple. I've experienced it before at the Marlton Diner in NJ. I don't know what's in it, but it tastes pretty good!

Randy, I'll take up your suggestion with the chicken, waffles and birch beer.

Brian, a reckon they are hilarious. They've obviously gone to a lot of trouble to do what they do!

Aitch, yup, Spicks and Specks was the show.

Darren,
Scrapple has pretty much every part of a pig in it but the squeal.

Robbie Fulks has a hilarious song called "Scrapple - The Pride of Pennsylvania."

With regards to the Electric Amish, they are regular players on a syndicated morning radio program called "Bob & Tom." They are hilarious with such gems as "Barnyard Blitz" and "Gimme 3 pigs (gimme 3 pigs mister, gimme 3 pigs for the boar)".

I believe the one holding the Rick is Dean Metcalf, the producer of the radio show.

I caught them once in Springfield, IL at an outdoor festival. They were raving about the "cider" the Bud Light stand was providing them.
