Any chance of some detailed pics of that 335, Dave? The Accent in particular is quite intriguing...

Paul, it’s not mine….Just kidding.
Darren Trott and his U.S. guide (and friend) Ed, were kind enough to stop by and let me check out his killer fatboy “F” body.
It was a day of Ric talks and Ric playing.
A “good day” for sure (no pun intended).
It sounded so warm, and the Accent is way cool, (with the 2 music notes cut into it). This could be the best sounding hollow body that I have ever played.
Paul, I am sure that Darren will post a ton of pic’s once he is home.
I need to get one too.

Everyone,
Today was another of those special Rickenbacker Forum "moments".
Dave and his lovely wife Lisa were tremendous hosts to Ed and I this afternoon. It was the first time Dave and I had met....we had corresponded a little about basses here and there.
Dave and Lisa prepared a scrumptious lunch which was washed down with some South Australian Barossa Valley red wine. I then had the privilege of being taken to Dave's Rickenbacker vault.
Man, what a collection! Many of Dave's guitars and basses I had only seen pictures of before. I was like a kid in a candy store! The photo above is particularly relevant as Dave want's my 335F and I want his 4005.
It was also pretty cool hearing the F for the first time through Dave's Fender amp.
I'll post my photos of today's merriment once I return to Australia at the end of the week.
Dave, thanks again buddy for a great day!

Wow what a great story. So I guess you won't be sending me the 335F to look after then? I thought I had died and gone to heaven when I saw that.

What a great photo. Rare moment indeed. And both FGs too! A 335F and 4005 being played in the same room by two Rickenbruthas who live a half a world apart.
Sigh...
Happy 4th Dave. (orHappy 4th, Dave?)

Jeez, Darren... what a blast!! The 335 looks sensational! As soon as I saw the pic I knew it was your new baby.......
Can't wait to see it 'in the flesh'!
Thanks for looking after my Aussie mate and Ed, Dave. And thanks to Lisa too! International get-togethers like this are a very special thing!

Aitch,
I'm sitting in the lounge at JFK Airport ready to fly back to Melbourne.
I'm hoping to take the 335F on board as carry on baggage. I've used every trick in the book to get it this far....one last hurdle to go at the aero-bridge! Fingers crossed!
Next instalment in the saga will occur at LA International in five hours time!

Good luck, Darren. With your gift of the gab you'll talk your way through it!

Just dress like a Mom and get all teary-eyed. Remember, it's for your daughter, who hasn't seen you since she was an infant...
