Being an european ebay auction, I expected this to go even higher. Did any of you follow it? Ilan? The listing has so many errors, still the seller seems to be honest. (I hope!)

No, I didn't follow it. I try to fight GAS and RAS these days... (I'm trying hard not to BIN
this v63 right now!). Got my '73 not long ago for considerably less - $1,250 off eBay, and Fireglo is my least favorite Ric color. Also, $2K+ is a bit steep for a late '73 without the "features" IMHO. And the seller doesn't ship outside of Europe, and I'm in Asia...

It's only missing split tailpiece and FWMOP?

Sorry, I didn't notice the checkerboard binding. Maybe it was worth $2K.

Thanks a lot Darren! It's not as nice as your 4001, but the price is just what I can afford. I'm happy to be joining the "Checkerboard club"!

I know y'all are probably tired of seeing this picture, but nothing gets me going (bass related) like a good checkerboard rick.

That's some nice "railroad binding," Lars.

Same for you, Mark, you can't go wrong with checkerboard.
