Vintage pickups to be discontinued?

I read a post selling a Ric 350 on Harmony Central that stated the seller heard that Ric Vintage pickups will be discontinued. Seems like a pretty wild rumor, or a misleading sales tactic. Any truth to this?

Nothing mentioned by RIC. If anything, the "vintage" horseshoe bass pickup is supposed to be available again as a separately purchased item. Toasters are still available as far as I know. Sounds like the seller is telling more than he knows.

Always check the RIC Corp. website in cases such as this. Rumors abound, but nothing beats The Official Word.

Sounds like ad hype to me. Then again, there are a LOT of sellers who just plain don't know enough to write a misleading ad on purpose. ;-)

I figured it was hype. I did check the Ric site and no news on that. Then again, isn't there something about the Ric-O-Sound being discontinued?

They are going to sell out the existing stock of the Ric-O-Sound boxes and not offer more, but the Ric-O-Sound feature will still be on the deluxe model guitars and basses.
