Here's what we know so far:

While Eric Clapton did play on the 'While My Guitar Gently Weeps' recording sessions, it was actually Ringo's guitar work that is heard on the released version of the song. George Martin decided to include Ringo's version as a payback for 'Love Me Do' Andy white incident. Clapton played tamborine on the released record.

Ringo's guitar can also be heard on "And Your Bird Can Sing".

Ringo got his start playing guitar from Johnny Guitar of Rory Storm and The Hurricanes.

John and Paul had to quit the Beatles to break the escalating cycle of pranks that came to dominate the EMI recording sessions.

George Harrison got so annoyed with Yoko that he told her to go stick a bag over her head. She took him literally.

John and George were eliminated by a secret cabal of shadowy figures because they threatened to go public with the TRUE story of 'While My Guitar Gently Weeps'

The 3-guitar lead on 'The End' was not done by Paul George and John. It was actually Ringo, Eric, and Mal Evans.

The Beatle pranks used to get so bad that George Martin would vent his frustrations by saying "My sweet lord, cant guy guys EVER get serious?" thus handing George Harrison a catchy song title.

OJ didn't kill Paul McCartney. It was actually Buster Bloodvessel.

OJ killed Brian Jones and Billy Shears is buried in Jim Morrison's grave.

this is a continuation (and containment) of the 'Beatles in Vagas' thread.

and an oldie but goodie.......

In the fall of 1961, in Blackpool England, a woman by the name of Mrs Arleen Baumgarden had set out to film her daughter's recital at the local town hall. The recital was scheduled for Sunday evening, so to be prepared, and to test the system, she set up her new 16mm film camera in the balcony (complete with a 2-mic reel to reel tape recorder) on Saturday afternoon. What she did not know until the last minute was that a group called The Beatles was scheduled to play there on Saturday night. Undeterred, Mrs Baumgarden used the occasion of the rock and roll concert to test her camera and tape deck.

The so-called "Baumgarden Film" (complete with audio tape which remained in remarkably good condition) was recently discovered by a man named Jason Silversmith in a trunk in the attic of the house he purchased in 2004 from Mrs Baumgarden's son Nigel (now deceased). Mr Silversmith has sold the items to the BBC which plans to release the material as special DVD package later this year.

This is from 2004 but its the first I ever heard of it.... was probably shown to be non-beatle.

On the other hand there was a legit attic find just recently in Liverpool. An old reel-to-reel of the Beatles and also Gerry and the Pacemakers playing at the New Brighton Tower in June of 1963. George Martin has been retained to remaster the recording.

Proof of Ringo's important guitar input to the Beatles:

The photo above is undeniable and irrefutable proof that Ringo taught George everything he ever knew about playing guitar. Ladies and gentemen, I rest my case...

I don't know it won't let me correct my spelling of 'gentlemen'. The message tells me that I'm not the one who posted it. Oh well...

Even Paul looks like he's interested in learning from the master.

Ringo looks like he's saying, "Alright, I'm only going to run through this one more time very slowly. If you lot don't get it, I'll give the song to Gerry Marsden. It's called "Ferry Cross The Mersey". By the way George, I could get Gerry to build you a nice roadcase for this guitar..."

Brammy: Isn't that John and George looking on? I don't see Paul.

Ringo goes on to say, "Gerry says that guitars always sound best with the finish removed. I hear he's got himself a whopping huge belt sander, and it'll knock the finish off anything in no time."
