Yoko is just ahead of her time... she'll be appreciated in 30 years.

I can't believe how fantastic John's voice sounds on Please Don't Go. Everytime I hear it I'm just amazed and awed. Imagine hearing him sing this at 19 in the cavern or Hamburg.
I'd pay good money to get my hands on the masters for this just to cut Yoko's mic and listen to John and Zappa. Zappa absolutely rips it up.
But, OMG, Yoko is UNBEARABLE on this clip. It's the worst kind of ****. Ruining good rock-n-roll....

I think Frank wanted to release this, re-mixed and such, but it ended up on Sometime in NYC and he could never get the tapes back.

Yeah, I have a clip of Zappa talking about how John basically released "Jamrag" and "*******" as Lennon-ono originals when it's really Zappa's "King Kong". Apparently Lennon just thought it was a jam and threw some titles on them and released it.
Needless to say, Zappa was pretty unhappy. He also comments on the bands....dissatisfaction with the part Yoko played in this. Listening to "Baby Please Don't Go" just makes you want to scream....he sounds so great, she's like getting your arm cut off with a rusty skill saw.

The comments about Yoko and her so-called singing on "Baby Please Don't Go" are right on! It's almost as if you're waiting for John to look over at her and scream SHUT THE F%#@ UP! Man, what a pitiful excuse for adding artistic input to a song.

Now that would make for a funny lawsuit.
I wonder how many copies of Sometime In NYC were pressed. I didn't know anyone who had it.

As fond as I am of the late John Lennon, there's no other way to describe Yoko's contribution than "sabotage"!
Of course if it's not deliberate, then it's merely a case of a woman from a very different culture who hasn't a CLUE about Western music in general; that's as kind as I can be to Yoko. I've played with incompetant musicians before and she qualifies.

I think it was John saying "You know how you all adored me before, well, adore THIS, you f***ers!
He was a student with low self esteem who became a world-wide idol, he might have had issues with fame and blind adoration.
