Hey gang. I noticed something this weekend: a difference in the turquoise between my 2000 330/12 and my 2004 360/12. The '00 is a little more blue, and really glows nicely under a blacklight. The '04 is a little darker, a little more green, and doesn't glow under the blacklight. I've heard people discuss color shade difference before, and wonder if anyone here can explain this cool anomaly. Thanks - J

They more than likely have paints from different manufacturers, and the formulas were different. The early/mid 2000's were (and still are!) a time of many changes in the paint world here..The Midnight Blue is another example that comes to mind..Different painters can also account for some variations in color shades as well.

Eric's right...

I have seen much less difference in Turquoise than in MID, though.

The blacklight flourescing is probably a function of the conversion varnish formula, which has been updated from time to time.

Cool. I didn't notice it until the blacklight was the main light source in the room. I have what I call "pimp lighting" in the former-bedroom-turned-studio. Under regular indoor lighting it is very hard to notice.
