Hi, I was here in the springtime but my computer crashed and only now got everything up and running
again.
I asked this question before here is the link.

I hope this time my computer stays alive.

RE: Rickenbacker told me that the checkered binding and the body shape was a special order.

Both became standard in '64. Perhaps Ric was confused. The Dutch tuners are likely Van Ghents- and they used them on various guitars throughout the 60's and into the early 70s'- most seem to pop up around '64-65. I had them on a '69 381. You could order them, but I think they just used them for fun sometimes.

Not sure about the value these days- dealers are trying to get crazy amounts for vintage Rics lately, but I don't really see them moving at what they're asking. ...so search the net for a dealers '60s 365 & divide by 2.

Rene, do you have any pics of your '64? I own a '64 365 from April. You rarely see one. I bought mine in '97 for $1700. :-)

John,

I am getting a new camera hopefully this week.
I will e-mail the pics asap.

Anthony, when I took my guitar to Rickenbacker, they wanted to buy it from me. I did not want to sell it. They told me that this guitar was a special order, but would not tell me who had ordered it.

In the late eighties.

Post the pictures when you have them. The description so far is standard up & down- even the Van Ghents were common on these just after they switched to the new body style.

...but maybe there's something wacky that we're not getting from the description.

For those who haven't been to Los Angeles or haven't been there in ages.

Need some R&R before the House Of Blues event?

Grab something to eat & drink at the Farmers Market at the corner of 3rd Street & Fairfax Ave. LA, CA 90036

Lot's of shops & food from all over the world, two open air bars, one (326) with nothing but domestic beers, with lots of micro's and one (EB's) with nothing but foreign beers.
My favorite beer Hopf Helle Weisse.

From the Farmers Market it is a 5-10 minute drive to the HOB. Taxis are readily available at the Farmers Market.

Next door to the Farmers Market is The Grove & CBS Television City.

www.farmersmarketla.com since 1934.
