It was a nice sunny day today and a perfect opportunity to experiment with some outdoor Rickenbacker photography at the beach. I hope you like the shots! Image

Robert, these shots were taken about five minutes walk from my house, which is on the coast of Port Phillip Bay, about 20km from Melbourne, Victoria in Australia.

It's days like today which makes me appreciate just how lucky we are.

Graham, thanks mate! Full sized shots are on their way to you.

You'd be getting your fair share of sunshine too, I hear?

Have you got a sun tan yet....ready for all those California girls we're gonna see in a month? Image

Wow, Darren, those are beautiful shots of an outrageously gorgeous guitar.... I hope they make it into next year's Forum calendar! Image

BTW, how does it SOUND, compared to an "ordinary" semi-hollow Ric?

More like the cover for the next Church album.
They are from Oz and play Ricks.

Gorgeous pics, Darren! Did you have to hire security guards to keep the joggers away from it? Image

Looking forward to a close encounter today......

Melibee, unfortunately I don't have the technology to create a sound clip for you (yet).
A verbal description will have to suffice for now.

The big hollow body gives the guitar a distinctly louder acoustic sound which has a real ring to it.

I can't believe how good the toasters are on Fatboy. I picked up the F straight after playing a Strat which has Custom Shop '54 pickups in it. The Strat's bridge pickup is warm, bright and super-twangy....and Fatboy's bridge toaster just wiped the floor with it.

The neck pickup is nowhere near as bright as the bridge pickup, but instead has a deep, jazz-style tone to it. The blend knob of course helps tweak the middle position tones.

Howard, Greg and Ron are coming over today for a road test. I'm keen to get their views on the sound, too.
