Room reservations getting scarce

I got a call from the hotel indicating that room reservations during the anniversary event may begin to get tight quite quickly now. Things are filling up at the same time that another sporting event has been scheduled here locally that same weekend.
If they run out of rooms at the Doubletree CLUB hotel, there might be a chance at the other Doubletree down the street but they have a big wedding scheduled in there that weekend as well. They're also considerably more expensive.
If you're coming, the time to reserve is now. My guess is that rooms won't remain bookable all the way through this weekend.

I cancelled my room at the Doubletree last Monday...a sad day, indeed.
It's probably been snapped up by now , though...

I may be doing the same myself Chris. The confluence and factory tour sound great but the scheduled evening events aren't interesting to me. So basically I'll be going for a tour and a short afternoon confluence.....I'm not sure it's worth the drive and $$$$$$ to me.
So another room may be available soon.

The evening events don't interest me and my wife either but two days of Rickenfest, the artist signings, a factory tour and the Friday jam session make it well worth it for us to be there.

Dane, everything you mentioned is why i'm going. I don't really have an interest in the evening events, but i'm still on the fence as to whether i'll attend or not.

All I ask is that if there is any sort of Lemmy poster signing that someone snag me one!

I must say that I'm quite surprised about the lack of interest in the evening events. I had thought that being able to schmooz with these folks personally- bearing in mind the full list of celebrities involved is not published- would have been interesting. (And many appearances will not be be published in advance due to constantly changing schedules.)
Beyond that, the Museum is a REALLY cool place and very much deserving of our support. These events, as benefits, have the potential to give them a nice shot in the arm.

My wife and I are looking forward to the whole weekend of events.

I didn't mean to sound ungrateful or to offer any disrespect by saying that the events don't interest me. It's just that my musical tastes are pretty narrow and Lemmy is really the only reasonably well known Ric player (and signature artist) who I have any interest in seeing or possibly chatting with (well, and Ms. Hoffs of course for entirely different reasons!). Other than that just meeting fellow Forumites and Ric CEO's/employees is my primary interest in attending and if there are events in the evenings that cut the confluence portion short then it becomes less attractive to me to drive for 30+ hrs. and spend my semi-hard earned money to do so. Plus, I know it was mentioned that some of the event happenings would be "invite only" and that may leave me in the cold......no harm certainly and I understand that's how things work BUT it does play a part in my decision.
I'm sure the museum is worthy of the support and I'm sure the events will be a great boost.

Me too and me neither, Alisha. Even just sitting around talking with people who share common interests will be a blast!

I would probably be into the other events but after purchasing Tom Petty tickets at the Hollywood Bowl and Asia reunion tickets at the Canyon Club AND trying to finish my customized Ricky 8-string in time for the Confluence, we're just tapped out.

I'm looking forward to meeting our fellow forumites.
Yesterday, a friend gave a shipping carton for my guitar, even though it originally came from F*****. In fact the carton is big enough, I could put two guitars in it.
I also thinking about using air freight on the same flight that I'm on as opposed to shipping it as luggage. Has any one else done that?
