I've got a new 620, everythings great, I have one small problem that I need to fix.

I'm currently using an unusal string setup: 10-52

I've checked it out on a couple different amps, so its not the amp.

My high E doesn't have as much attack as my other strings. Should I raise the high-end of the pickup? Lower the low-end? Different gauge string? Raise the action?

I'm new to the electric guitar world, I'm an acoustic player. I don't know what to do, please help!

The string gauges are not likely responsible for your problem. Now for a few questions.

Is this a stock Model 620 with the high gain pickups? Is the neck on this instrument straight? Do you have any tuning problems with the high E string. Is the string seated nicely in the slot on the E string saddle? Does it grab in the nut? When you play the instrument acoustically do all strings appear to resonate well? Do you notice a decrease in the high E volume as you move up the fretboard? Is there a decrease in volume associate with bending the high E string?

I had a older telecaster with the same problem. Guitar tech said it needed a $450 fret job, I sold the guitar! If your 620 is actually new, then this obviously is not your problem. If you bought it used, maybe the frets are a little flat and muffling the string a bit.

Yes its a stock 620 w/High gains.

Yes the neck is staight.

No Tuning Issues.

The string IS seated nicely in the saddle. - Side note, I'd like graph-tech saddles, but they don't make 'em for RICs, does RIC make 'em?

No amp, good resonance.

Yes a decrease (slight) up the fretboard on that string.

No decrease in volume from bending (I don't think).

Is the same problem evident with each pickup as you listen to them separately?

I havn't tried that specifically. I know that on the treble pickup is when its most evident, but I'll have to check it out tonight to give you a firm answer.

Raised high end of both pickups, problem solved!
